For many years, biogas in Europe was mainly produced from energy crops, particularly from corn.
Our company, however, has always set a focus on biogas plants running mainly, or exclusively, on organic waste, from manure and dung to food waste and organic residues and by-products from food processing industry (slaughterhouses, bakeries) supermarkets and retailers.
Cattle and pig farmers are facing increasing difficulties, and costs, to spread manure from their farms on agricultural lands. They need to transport manure over large distances to regions which can still absorb the nutrients.
Our approach is different: we build industrial-scale biogas plants close to the farms, produce biomethane from the manure, and process all residues into valuable fertilizer products.
